HTML Pocket Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

HTML Pocket is a local HTML file browsing app. This Privacy Policy explains how we process relevant information when you use this app.

Depending on the features you actually use, HTML Pocket may process the following information on your device:

  • .html / .htm files that you actively select, import, or pass to this app through the system Open In flow
  • Web page entries organized from HTML files, including display name, source file name, entry file path, import time, last opened time, deletion records, and content fingerprint
  • Local web page folders and entry HTML copies generated to render local web pages
  • Project-level runtime storage written by web pages inside the app, such as a localStorage mirror used to continue progress or settings
  • Necessary page metadata used for an immersive browsing experience, such as safe-area background color and similar display assistance information
  • When iCloud is available, web page entries, web page folder contents, and deletion records used for sync across devices signed in to the same Apple Account
  • Membership purchase status, restore purchase status, and entitlement validity status

HTML Pocket does not provide an app account system, and it does not collect or sync your HTML files through a self-hosted server.

We process the information above mainly to:

  • Open, import, organize, and render local HTML files or ZIP archives that you choose
  • Show a list of previously opened web pages on the home screen
  • Identify source files with identical content and reuse existing web page entries
  • Sync web page entries and web page folder contents through Apple’s official services when you use the same Apple Account and iCloud
  • Sync deletion records after a web page entry is deleted, to prevent deleted content from being brought back by other devices
  • Provide membership purchase, restore purchase, and necessary purchase status confirmation

HTML Pocket operates with a local-first approach. Imported web page folders, entry HTML copies, the web page list, and related metadata are saved locally on your device by default.

When iCloud is available, some data may be synced across devices signed in to the same Apple Account through Apple’s official iCloud / CloudKit private database, including:

  • Web page entry metadata
  • Web page folder contents, including entry HTML and relative resource files such as CSS, JavaScript, and images extracted from ZIP sources
  • .htmlanywhere/local-storage.json inside a web page project folder, used to continue web page progress or settings across devices signed in to the same Apple Account
  • Web page deletion records

iCloud sync is an asynchronous, best-effort capability. When iCloud is unavailable, not signed in, or affected by network failure, local import, browsing, and deletion can still continue.

HTML Pocket uses Apple WebKit WKWebView to render HTML. It does not implement its own HTML parser or rendering engine.

This app does not actively fetch remote web pages and does not provide a remote URL browser. However, if the HTML content you open contains external images, scripts, styles, links, or other network resources, WKWebView may initiate network requests according to the web page content and system WebKit behavior. Those requests are determined by the HTML content you open, and may be affected by network status, system settings, and third-party resource providers.

HTML Pocket may use the following system capabilities as needed by its features:

  • File access or document opening capabilities, used to read HTML files that you actively select or pass to this app
  • iCloud / CloudKit, used to sync web page entries and web page folder contents across devices signed in to the same Apple Account
  • StoreKit, used to process membership purchases, restore purchases, and purchase status confirmation

You can manage iCloud, network, and app file access settings in system settings. Disabling or restricting these capabilities may make dependent features unavailable, but it will not affect local browsing paths that do not depend on those capabilities.

You can manage information in the following ways:

  • Delete web page entries you no longer need inside the app
  • Manage iCloud and network-related permissions in system settings
  • Manage or cancel auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s subscription management entry
  • Stop using the app’s sync capability by signing out of iCloud, turning off iCloud, or deleting the app
  • Remove local data from this device by deleting the app

If data has already been synced through iCloud to other devices signed in to the same Apple Account, you may need to sync or delete the corresponding web page entries on those devices as well to keep local copies consistent across all devices.

HTML Pocket provides local HTML file browsing capabilities for general users. We recommend that parents or guardians assist children in using this app and manage file sources, iCloud, network access, and device permissions.

If product features or applicable rules change, we may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be published on this page.
